Attendance Policy

Absences

When your child is going to be absent or late for any reason, please call the clinic at 219-764-6743 by 9:00 a.m. This is a 24 hour line for your convenience. The Too Sick For School Guidelines may help you in making the decision to keep your child home from school. When your child arrives late or leaves before the end of the school day, a parent or guardian must come into the office to sign the student in/out. Please refer to the attendance policy in the student/parent handbook for detailed attendance information.

Family Vacations

Vacations while in school are discouraged. However, parental vacations of up to five (5) days are excused provided the following has been done:

• A Vacation Request form must be filled out by the parent and returned to the principal for approval at least two (2) weeks in advance of the vacation. These forms can be picked up in the office.
